I went in to buy some SD cards for my camera. Didn’t expect luxury in a W H Smith.
This is a variety store at Liverpool Street Station, one of London’s big mainline rail stations. I was just waiting to pay when out the corner of my eye I saw this marble fireplace. I’d already noticed the gold trim and fancy curls on the ceiling and walls. Gorgeous remnants of the days when this was perhaps the first class lounge or the office of a railroad big wig. Do you know?
