If Travel is so Great, Why is Packing so Hard? Adventure-a-Day #12

Apparently I’m not the only one who grinds to a halt when it’s time to pack for a trip. One of my travel writer friends chimed in with a “That happens to me too!” when I posted about it on Facebook.

It’s like I have one foot on each side of the line, wanting to tidy things up at home but also wanting to get away.

And I always find my back gets sore when I pack.

I thought it was from carrying luggage and bending over at an awkward angle to put stuff in and out of my suitcase.

Yesterday, though, I discovered that it’s almost entirely psychosomatic. I guess there’s more stress involved than I realized!

At least I know what I’m dealing with. I simply have to come to terms with not being able to be in two places at one time. Darn.
